Maurice is not just a diamond dealer, he
is a diamond-cutter by profession. Diamonds have been his life for over
45 years.
After serving his apprenticeship in his family's gold and diamond mining business in Guyana, South America, he moved to Barbados and set up his business in 1961. He trained as a Diamond Cutter in 1958 in New York City and then with the prestigious Gemological Institute of America (GIA - recognized as the world's foremost authority in gemology) in 1962 & 1963 before being awarded the Diamond Certificate. He then opened his own jewellery store - Correia's Jewellery.
With his unrivalled experience as a diamond-cutter and his intimate knowledge of the Four Cs - the characteristics used to determine the quality of a diamond - you can trust him to find you the right diamond at the right price.
